Gilmore Khandhar, LLC is a law firm focused on using legal, policy, and advocacy tools to advance economic justice, racial equity, and social transformation. Our clients build community and power, and we help them. We work with businesses, community and social enterprises, cooperatives, and nonprofit organizations.

Building Resilient Organizations
Primarily through Outside General Counsel services, we support communities of color, migrant communities, and other marginalized groups to develop thriving organizations, businesses, and infrastructure that secure their self-determination. This includes nonprofits, cooperatives, and market-defining social enterprises.

Facilitating Transformative Finance
We support clients to activate economic strategies, such as divestment from extractive economic structures, and investment into restorative economies. We collaborate with our clients to build and support innovative financial options like community investment funds, movement trusts, non-extractive debt, and special purpose vehicles for community ownership.

Structuring Collective Land Stewardship
We work with clients who move land and real estate out of the speculative market, and toward collective land stewardship and/or ownership. Examples include land cooperatives, reparation land gifts, farm collectives, and community land trusts.

Growing Just Transition
We help build a robust field of just transition lawyers, who are aligned and prepared to work in and with community toward a regenerative economy. We do this through the Just Transition Lawyering Institute, our client work, and educational and community events. We also support new solidarity economy law practices and practitioners.
About Us
We are a boutique law firm with an eight-person staff, including six lawyers.
We are lawyers, teachers, and advocates for racial equity and economic justice. Together, we bring many decades of legal experience and work with mission-driven organizations, businesses, and government-led initiatives.
